Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre
HOF Electrical was engaged to deliver the electrical design and construction of the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre, a landmark healthcare facility developed to advance melanoma treatment, research, and patient care. The seven-storey centre brings together clinical services, research, imaging, and wellness facilities within a purpose-built environment designed to support innovation and collaboration across all stages of cancer treatment.
The project involved the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure to support a wide range of specialist clinical, research, and operational requirements. Key elements included a new 1675kVA generator and fuel system, a 250kVA in/out UPS system, a nurse call system, comprehensive communications infrastructure, security and electronic access control systems, and the fit-out of a new substation incorporating extensive electromagnetic field (EMF) shielding.
Additional works included the installation of a 100kW solar system, lightning protection, monitored emergency and exit lighting systems, a complete DALI lighting control system, and power and lighting infrastructure for electromedical, body-protected, and other specialist treatment areas. HOF also coordinated testing, commissioning, and integration of all systems to meet the stringent requirements of a world-class healthcare and research facility.
With a total project value of approximately $8 million, the completed installation supports the centre's vision of delivering leading-edge cancer care, research, and clinical innovation under one roof.
