PET/CT Fitout, The Alfred Hospital

HOF Electrical was engaged to deliver the complete electrical, security, and communications package for the fit-out of new PET/CT imaging suites, staff offices, plant rooms, and back-of-house facilities at Basement 1 of The Alfred Hospital. The project was undertaken within a fully operational acute healthcare environment, requiring careful staging, coordination, and compliance with strict hospital operational constraints.
The scope included design completion, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical infrastructure. Works covered main and distribution switchboards, general power and lighting systems, and a Dynalite lighting control system integrated with monitored emergency and exit lighting to support clinical safety requirements.
The project also incorporated a fully integrated security system including CCTV, electronic access control, intruder detection, and intercom/duress alarm systems. Structured data cabling was installed to support PET/CT imaging equipment and associated building engineering systems.
In addition, HOF delivered a fully integrated nurse call system, commissioned and certified to AS3811 by an independent medical inspector. The works were completed in close coordination with hospital stakeholders and multiple trades, ensuring seamless integration with existing live hospital systems and uninterrupted clinical operations.
